Randy Woodfield just wanted to play football, but instead, he killed at least 44 people and committed over 100 crimes.
Valentine’s Day Party Gone Wrong
After the robberies, Woodfield had invited friends from college to a Valentine’s Day party he planned to host at the Marriott Hotel in Portland, but no one showed. He grew angry and drove to the home of Julie Reitz, whom he had met while working as a bouncer at a bar in Portland. After raping her, he shot the young woman in the head execution-style.
By the end of February, the police were focused on Woodfield, who didn’t waste any time and struck on three more occasions. Marion County detectives assembled a call log that showed he had placed calls via calling cards and payphones near the areas where the murders took place.
