Brahan Seer, Scotland’s own ‘Nostradamus'
Scotland has its very own version of Nostradamus in the form of Brahan Seer, a legendary prophet who is said to have predicted many significant events in Scottish history.

Silence of the Sheep

In a prophetic tone, the speaker envisioned a future where the jaw-bone of the mighty sheep would replace the plough on the rafters. A time when the sheep population would grow so vast that their bleating would echo across the land from Conchra in Lochalsh to Bun-da-Loch in Kintail. The value of these creatures would soar, only to eventually decline and vanish into obscurity. So much so that even the discovery of a sheep's jaw-bone in a stone cairn would leave future generations clueless as to its origins. The speaker predicted a mass exodus of people from the land, leaving the animals to reign supreme until the day the native peoples returned.
