Brahan Seer, Scotland’s own ‘Nostradamus'
Scotland has its very own version of Nostradamus in the form of Brahan Seer, a legendary prophet who is said to have predicted many significant events in Scottish history.

Another famous prediction of Brahan Seer was that the bridges over the River Ness in Inverness would one day fall. This prediction was laughed off by many at the time, but in 1989, one of the bridges did indeed collapse, causing widespread damage and disruption.

Brahan Seer is also said to have predicted the coming of the railway to the Highlands, the discovery of North Sea oil, and the rise of the Scottish National Party. His prophecies have become an important part of Scottish folklore, and many people still believe in his powers to this day.

Despite his reputation as a prophet, little is known about the life of Brahan Seer. Some legends say that he was born in the village of Uig on the Isle of Lewis, while others claim that he was a farmer from the Black Isle. He is said to have been blind in one eye, and to have had a reputation as a wise man and healer.
