Prophecy of doom with the Seaforths
During the height of his fame, Odhar made a fateful prediction that would ultimately lead to his demise. Isabella, the wife of the Earl of Seaforth, sought his advice regarding her husband's well-being during a visit to Paris. Though Odhar reassured her of the Earl's good health, he refused to divulge any further information. Isabella's anger boiled over, and she threatened to have him killed if he didn't reveal all. In response, Odhar predicted that the Earl was with a fairer woman than herself and that the Seaforth line would come to an end with the last heir being deaf and dumb. This prophecy proved true when Francis Humberston Mackenzie inherited the title in 1783, having been left deaf and dumb from scarlet fever as a child. Despite having four children who died prematurely, the line came to a tragic end. In a fit of rage, Isabella had Coinneach seized and thrown into a barrel of boiling tar, marking a gruesome end to his life.
