Scotland has its very own version of Nostradamus in the form of Brahan Seer, a legendary prophet who is said to have predicted many significant events in Scottish history.
The dawn of locomotives
One of his predictions spoke of "magnificent black, without a bride" horses that would spew forth fire and steam over the Highlands. Remarkably, two centuries later, the Scottish Highlands saw the advent of the first railways.
