Richard Bruno Heydrich an opera singer and father of Reinhard Heydrick
Born to a middle-class family with a musical background in Halle, Germany, on 7th March 1904, Reinhard Tristan Eugen Heydrich's journey into a life filled with hatred and cruelty started early. His father, Richard Heydrich, was an opera singer and composer who established the Halle Conservatory of Music, Theatre and Teaching. The emphasis of the household was on culture, education, and traditional values. With all these influences, no one could have predicted the monster that young Heydrich would become.
Heydrich was intelligent and ambitious, with a penchant for strategy and tactics, which he first exhibited during his tenure in the Reichsmarine (the German Navy) during the early years of the Weimar Republic. Despite excelling in his duties, his promising naval career abruptly ended when Heydrich was dismissed for breaking an engagement promise to a woman – a scandalous event at the time.
