Moosham Castle, or the Schloss Moosham, of Austria has a dark history entwined with the European witch hunts.
Moosham Castle was the site of the Salzburg Witch Trials that swept the region in the 17th century. Hundreds if not thousands of people were accused of witchcraft — mostly poor women — and were said to have been brought to the castle to be imprisoned and tortured.
