Scotland has its very own version of Nostradamus in the form of Brahan Seer, a legendary prophet who is said to have predicted many significant events in Scottish history.
Piper Alpha Disaster, 1988
According to the Brahan Seer, the construction of the ninth bridge over the River Ness would bring about a catastrophic series of events characterized by "fire, blood, and calamity." In 1987, this ominous prophecy came to fruition with the completion of the bridge, followed by the tragic Piper Alpha disaster the following year.
